Important questions for HYTRAN Software for Hydraulic transient
analysis developers .
I do have some technical issues about your program and I do need your support to clear my observations and could do the right evaluation of your software output and input results as well.
1st question is for your pump dialog
As I am seeing that you are using single point of discharge and head and want to be surge that your program don’t have pumps files nor pumps performance curves.
that question is important to determine if your program can determine the duty analysis of system curve intersection with equivalent parallel pumps curves.
the second question is what does it mean by kind RESV, Extent Full, operation Fail and valve Chek. and how those elements can be modeled for sudden power failure.
Third question is it possible to model multiple different pumps on the program?
on the other hand moving to surge tanks I do have some clarifications to be able determining the same results as we obtain from other programs.
1st why you don’t have multiple air chambers of different volumes enabling us to obtain different performance of parallel tanks of different volumes , air volume and different diameters?
Second question is what is the importance of putting water start level at a time you already have the answer by asking for tank cross section area and percentage of air or air volume.
one of the misleading points of duplicating the input data is some people treating water start level the same as its height inside the tank at a time we are sure that the word start level means difenetlly the difference between tank output nozzle and connection point to force main line.
when locating the surge tanks below the force main line the elevation differences should be negative value should be subtracted from water height and if higher it should be added to water height.
treating water level the same as water height is giving false results and putting the hall output data out of equivalent results from other programs as KY PIPE program.
last question is why you don’t deal with networks and only you can deal with single lines and single components .
sorry I forgot an important question, which is how you can determine the in and out flow resistances of surge vessels including fittings and valves?
I do hope to review my questions and get an answer from developers or experts on that field.
